For partners and funders

Fund the signal

Data4Good is a UK social enterprise that matches data volunteers with charities. Partners and funders make that possible, and meet some of the most motivated data talent in the country along the way.

Why partner

Good for charities. Good for you.

  • Measurable social impact

Back work with a clear purpose. Every project has a defined question and an outcome the charity can use.

  • Early access to data talent

Meet students, graduates and professionals as they do real work, and see how they think before you ever interview them.

  • A stronger employer brand

Be known to students and graduates as an organisation that backs their skills and the causes they care about.

  • Meaningful staff engagement

Give your own people a way to use their expertise for good, through mentoring, judging or sharing their knowledge.

Ways to partner

Choose how you get involved

Every partnership is shaped around what you want to achieve. These are the main routes. We are happy to build something different.

  1. Sponsor a hackathon

Put your name behind a data challenge, from The North-East Varsity Hackathon to The Great Energy Industry Hackathon. Event details are still to be announced.

  2. Fund student grants

Help students take part who might otherwise not be able to, by covering costs that could keep them away.

  3. Sponsor a charity project

Fund a specific project and see the result. We keep you updated on progress and share the outcome with the charity’s agreement.

  4. Recruitment and talent partnership

Get access to a talented pool of volunteers who have opted in to hear from employers, plus showcase events to meet them.

  5. University and student society partnerships

Work with us to bring data volunteering to your campus, course or society, and give students a route into real projects.

FAQs

Questions partners ask

All FAQs

How can my organisation partner with Data4Good?

Organisations can partner with Data4Good by sponsoring a hackathon, funding student grants or supporting charity projects. To start the conversation, send us a message through the partnership enquiry form and tell us what you are interested in.

What do partners and sponsors get in return?

Partners help fund hackathons, student grants and charity projects, and gain access to a talent pool of data volunteers for recruitment. They are also visibly associated with practical, social impact work. The exact benefits depend on the type of partnership we agree together.

Which events can partners sponsor?

Our planned events include The North-East Varsity Hackathon, The 1st Annual Oxbridge Hackathon and The Great Energy Industry Hackathon. Details are still to be confirmed. Get in touch through the partnership form to find out about sponsorship opportunities.

Can we recruit through Data4Good?

Partners can gain access to our talent pool of data volunteers, including students, graduates and career changers, for recruitment. We will explain how introductions work when we discuss your partnership, and volunteers always decide for themselves whether to be introduced.

Are there standard terms for sponsorship?

Yes. We have standard partnership terms that set out what partners fund and what we deliver in return. We will share them with you once you have made an enquiry, and we are happy to talk through any questions before you decide.
